"What would be an adventure if you didn't get to fight a dragon?" Tilly, She Kills Monsters, Qui Nguyen

Danielle's work as a fight director has been seen in New York, Boston, the Providence Fringe Festival, and at various regional universities.  She has pioneered stage combat as part of the pathways curriculum at the University at Buffalo, introducing students from across the university to the discipline of stage combat as a medium for learning: communication, partnering, body awareness, consent, self esteem, and creativity (among other critical skills).

Twelfth Night Promo

This is a promo video that the Center for the Arts put together to advertise the production of Twelfth Night which Danielle directed and fight directed at the University at Buffalo. Danielle also taught the students sword care, sword handling, and safety protocols around sword storage.  This video shows all of those things put into action.

Punch it Forward

During the pandemic, curricular requirements meant that Danielle had to run her stage combat class, but social distancing requirements meant that it had to be done remotely. This video is a group project her class put together as a means of creative connection in a time when we were physically distant.
